there seems to be an issue with 5.1 video clips as well, on headphones it sounds like there is no downmix from 5.1 to 2.0 but only the front channels are used (center channel/voices are very low)

I just said, it is not downmixed to stereo. It's a simple function, it is just not set properly. Hopefully the next update will solve it.
